Guided by the CA State Board of Education curriculum, each program incorporates the following criterion: Artistic perception, creative expression, applications/relationships, aesthetic valuing, and historical & cultural context.

Inside
the Classroom
|
Rhythms of the World
Children will learn how to count, listen to, and analyze
music from all over the world. This class increases auditory
skills and focuses on the relationship between music,
emotion and movement. |
| Art in Science
In a fun and safe environment students can enjoy using
movement to learn about science. Through dance, students
investigate heat, energy, the three states of matter,
gravity and more. |
|
What's a shoe got to do with
it?
Students create movement using every day ideas and objects.
From making masks to building obstacle courses, students
are engaged in an awareness of dance all around them. |

Behind the Curtain
This is a unique opportunity for a class to create an
entire show. Choosing from a variety of storylines, students
write the script, make costumes, create choreography,
stage manage and direct their very own production. |
Past
Projects
BRIDGES to Guatemala
Beginning in January 2007, we volunteered for six months in the Children's Village at Casa Guatemala. This orphange, in the Rio Dulce region of Guatemala, works to provide education in a healthy living environment for abused and abandoned children. We introduced and implemented our program as a medium of expression to enhance self-awareness and self-worth. We lived with over 200 children and assisted in their schooling.
ArtsReach/ University Art Gallery, UCSD
Organized by the University Art Gallery, ArtsReach is UCSD's exciting K-12 arts outreach program. ArtsReach brings students on campus to enjoy a half-day of cultural enrichment and exposure to the University environment. Guided by University Art Gallery docents, students acquire skills in critical thinking and learn to articulate their responses to the arts.
In 2006, BRIDGES instructors shared dance through perfomance, coordination games, and choreography using student's original movement
