The Breathing Room

We are melting
She said “I can’t see it”
The fan is sifting our yellow glow
Another dressing room
Another mirror
To look into
Another city
With similar blues
Dancing our dying days
To the beat of another drum
After this is over
I got no where to go
The makeup is running
Picasso down our cheeks
It all started so safe
On an empty stage
There was no one who [...]

Dream Inside a Dream

No sound
Could crack this barrier
I never let him into my world
Somewhere between the divided
Segments of the corporate ladder
I gave up on him
An artist weeps
In her tea
As the dark in the black
Is coming after me
This is supposed to be an adventure
We are a common disaster
Designating colored cupboards
With an impatient cringe
Helen Keller’s ghost
Passes through my kitchen

Let our lives be open books

Street performing in Times Square was interesting. Sarah performed “The Next Adaptation” in the path of oncoming foot traffic. The piece is about letting go of addiction/denial so it fit against the huge tv screens, annoying billboards, the gagging stench of piss, streams of neon and clusterfuck of noise and pollution. Our Brooklyn show was sold out! We enjoyed seeing people sitting along the sides of the black box, standing and encroaching upon us. The cast and crew were awesome… Gigi and Steven kicked ass with an hour of tech for all 4 choreographers. The space was so hot and humid..we got ready outside the theatre. [...]

April, Lily and Sarah began the last leg of our Art for Peace Tour last week. Many thanks to all those who donated, in [...]

A Message by George Carlin

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but [...]
