July 7, 2008

If all goes well with our van (which is in the shop), Sarah, Lily and April leave tomorrow for Northern California…we’ve got a few new shows booked, one in Cleveland, Ohio with huge thanks to Rachel who found out about us somehow and worked very hard to get us a gig in her town. The other is in San Diego as part of City Heights Performance Annex Dance Festival, Aglae Saint-Lot runs the events and is one of our favorite people cause she kicks major ass! We look forward to seeing her again!

So the other day we sent out an emailer about our tour…happily surprised to only find 3 people who voted for Bush out of our 2000 or so email list. some sweet responses from our mass emailer are:

This is “friggin” awesome

I have loved seeing your work, and most of all I love what your about

this sounds amazing, what a fantastic journey!

i love what you have done and would like to be a part

you will succeed. i know you will. just keep at it, keep doing.

I admire what you are doing and LOVE your work

…thank you for supporting Xdrop; an independent, grassroots arts organization that’s not afraid to dance on gravel and step away from the established criterion of contemporary dance…

we are full of love, thank you to everyone for your kind words and encouragement, for wanting to donate but can’t afford it cause you are also a starving artist who also understands the humility in asking for help, and for those of you who are willing to spare what you can for our Art for Peace tour…you are in our hearts…we’d like to say you will go to heaven for this, but we are not sure, how about we just say you are every reason why…

Seeing where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going as a collective puts a smile on my face. Keep the forward momentum…… “dance because we are free”. Heard that so long ago and it’s stuck in my head when thinking of xdrop. Take care all…. good journeys.
