We entered Yellowstone… although it was snowy, we thought we would at least drive through… the conditions got worse and when we saw a car rolled over into the snow we decided ’safety first’ and turned the car around. we headed back through Montana…bummed about not being able to check out Yellowstone, but ready for the onset of our new adventure. we headed into Casper, Wyoming and were treated to a lovely evening and night with Sarah’s family friends… a hot tub and some lemondrops and we were fast asleep. That night, we had a revelation of sorts and decided to head east…partly due to our funds and gas costs and partly due to our desires of spending more time with our families. We drove 24 hours through Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands of South Dakota into Minnesota and parked it in Madison, Wisconsin where Lily’s family resides. It was one hell of a drive, longer than each of us had traveled on the road, cranked out on coffee and redbull. We made it to The Blue Marlin where Lily’s brother is the head chef. Angelo treated us to a glorious 6 course dinner including blind tastings and extra special treatment from the staff- we are stuffed and happy! It was the best part of Lily’s trip so far to spend time with her 5 yr. old nephew, Kai Dylan. We were there 3 nights and came to Chicago, Illinois yesterday morning to see our friend Reem. She took us to see The Great Michigan Lake and Lincoln Park Zoo. We went to Rockit Bar and Grill where we met the assistant manager, William who treated us to 3 bottles of champagne, shots, beers and lunch- Chicago is awesome! We had to try the original Chicago deep-dish pizza from Gino’s East and got a few beers donated also, we are not sure if we are going to become better alcoholics or better artists when this tour is over?!… Plans for the future include a return to performing, more family visits and of course, more fun.
