Disposable Country
Used
Abused and forgotten
Just like every invention
We are all a part of
This great descension
When did it seem a good idea to
Rearrange the pieces of life
To excuse the resistance
And give up the fight
You’ve got potential
And all the new stuff
With a brand new car
Next to a brand new heart
I can’t beat them out
I can’t even single them out
Who am I to judge?
Who am I to doubt
How sure of anything can you be
When you have a longing
That defies reason which in turn defies gravity
They want
They want
They need to want
They have to want
To feel less afraid
America is a lonely brew
After the pink
They stampede over you
What we forget is everything
What we don’t aim for
We don’t achieve
This country is a piece of you
Of me
Disposable
Slowly gaining speed
Expose yourself
And identify with the media’s schemes
You will go far
Away it seems
The center of the world
On the edge of defeat
Is still fighting a war
Against nobody
Bombing for peace
They keep raising that flag
And we just watch it wave
I can see China is almost waving back
Congress is going to need a new plan for this attack
Before I outdate
The species which
Destroys their habitat
Then tries to cover up the remains
I am just trying to
Trade justice for change
Trying just to speak clear
Still trying on the words
I
Was
Here
